Bandportals was started mid 2002 to focus on delivering practical, effective web solutions and artist development services designed to support music artists at all levels. Bandportals can closely monitor and maximize a clients existing resources (and staff) to support all activities surrounding a given campaign or project through its various services.
Bandportals, a New York City and Rochester, NY based company, is the brainchild of Jim Coffman and Lou Parmelee, who are its co-Directors. Jim, who handles business development, has years of experience at major and indy labels in product marketing (and artist management)working with Universal, V2, Atlantic, Mercury, Island, Imago, and Profile Records. Most recently he worked at web development firms V-Flash, Mediathings and Search By Media. Lou, who heads the tech and project development for Bandportals, is a web-music pioneer working as Director of Marketing and Content Development for Throttlebox.com. One of the premiere music download destinations, Throttlebox quickly became one of the few download sites that was supported and sanctioned by the industry for audio/video downloads with over 50,000 media files. Lou's music background extends back to when he was a live production engineer in New England in the early 90's.
